Well, Jess went for her OB/GYN follow up, and what do ya know…she is knocked up yet again. Seriously, at this point one of us just needs to keep our pants on. Oh well, perhaps this one will be a boy, because really, if I have three girls, I might off myself!

No ______________ ‘fill in her name here’, yet. Jess is doing great, she did get some pain meds after a rather brutal exam ‘sorry Heather but you hurt my baby ‘Jess’. I know you were just helping and doing your job, so I wont hold it against you’.

We are just in waiting mode right now. Her water broke ‘was broken’ at about 3:30p, contractions are about the right strength, but just not steady enough to get into a rythmn of pushing yet. They are upping the levels of Pitocin ‘we are at 26 ml/hr’ trying to get those contractions to a steady beat. The baby is just fine, seems to be very laid back kinda just enjoying the walls move around her. All of you people that used to drop acid can probably relate?!

She is at 8cm, water broken, and 100% efaced.

They just started Jessica on the pitocin, her contractions before that were nice and steady, but they are a little more intense now, but less regular.

Mommy and Daddy to be got here last night about 9p, and have the show on the road. She is having contractions now, our little girl is doing great, she has a steady heartbeat and seems to be just sleeping through all the excitement going on around here.

She has done a lot of work while she slept last night to get the ball rolling….it is only a matter of time now…..

No News is No News

I get a daily maternity newsletter, and today’s topic was No News is No News. So true.

I’ve had time to set up a mass email group to all friends and family, so as soon as she comes all Ryan has to do is fill in the blanks and attach a photo.

I’ve also had time to set up a new category in the gallery that will have her photos.

Well, yesterday was her due date, and my dad’s theory that the baby would come right on her due date, because Ryan and I are so particular and organized, has been blown out of the water.
We did find ourselves in labor and delivery last night though. I decided to take a walk around 4PM yesterday, and I thought my water broke. By the time we made it up to L&R it was around 7. I was having contractions, but nothing major so I wasn’t in a rush. Well, they checked, and it appears it was a false alarm. We did stay there for a couple of hours monitoring just in case. Ryan passed out while watching South Park , and here I am trying to have our kid. He assured me that he would have woken up if something was happening….. and I’m sure he would have… because… it wouldn’t be up to him to continue sleeping. He did only get a couple hours sleep the night before… but still!
One major lesson I learned was EAT. OMG. Of course everything was closed by the time we got out of there, and I hadn’t eaten anything since noon. My poor baby had to eat Taco Cabana – the lesser of many evils I’m sure she was thinking what the heck is this crap, mom? I think that was her first experience with fast food. She seemed to do ok with it. She was jumping around in my stomach for a while, but I think that was more because she gets really annoyed when I’m hungry, and while we were waiting for the “food” to come out I had a glass of Fanta ‘Dontcha wanta? *cha cha cha*’. I rarely drink fizzy drinks or have anything with that much sugar. Quite honestly after the cuisine last night you’d figure she’d say…. screw this place… I’m outta here!

My game plan for today is walking. Ryan’s hip hasn’t been doing well at all, so my dad’s headed out to keep me company while running a couple of errands and walking around the mall. I’ll actually make dinner tonight too. Ryan’s excited about that. I can’t blame him. My appetite is so fickle, I don’t cook anymore. So maybe the errands and walking will get her to come out. I’ve been doing the whole relaxing thing for the past week which doesn’t seem to do the trick.

No Baby

Well, today is the day I thought she’d come, but now that it’s here I’m thinking no. I know the day isn’t over, but I haven’t had any major signs that labor is coming. My midwife did say that sometimes it just *boom* happens. My coworker felt my belly and said it was pretty hard- insinuating that I was having a contraction at the time, but I told her it didn’t hurt. She said that they don’t have to hurt, so who knows. I suppose I’ve had some indications that things are progressing, but nothing that’s painful, so I haven’t thought much of it. Not that I’m expecting this process to be painful… so maybe that’s why it’s not. Either way I have an appointment tomorrow to see if I’m making any progress. I can tell she’s in a different position today, because I’m again waddling verses walking. Fortunately, once I’ve taken a few steps I can just walk.

All of the family ‘friends too’ is very anxious. We get phone calls from someone every day. While I appreciate the concern and thought, at the same time I’m having enough problems keeping my excitement and nerves under control. I really don’t need people calling and getting me all hyped up.

Maybe spicy food will work.
