Wal-Mart Rules
Posted on Saturday, September 14th, 2002 by jessicaWe were fortunate to live near a nice Super Wal-Mart at our old apartment, and did all of our grocery shopping there. Well, in our new place, we are near a Super Wal-Mart, but its quite old and ghetto. The food isnt as fresh as it could be, so weve been making the trip back to our old Wal-Mart. Well, finally the whole lazy thing got to us, and the extra drive wasnt worth it, or so we thought. Less than six blocks from our apartment is a Tom Thumb, a Kroger, and Albertsons. Albertsons being the lesser of the evils, even though they are no longer Your Store because they have jumped onto the frequent shopper card bandwagon. We attempted to do our normal grocery shopping, but couldnt find some of the basic necessities such as Fruit Roll Ups…. We did thankfully find Gusher Fruit Snacks however when we ate them back home, they were old and hard. During our shopping trip at Albertsons we found multiple things that had expired. They had special deals on meat that was just about to go old, and doughnuts that were a month old. We took some of the expired items off of the shelf and put them in our cart to give to the manager at the end of our trip, but as we continued we realized that if we continued to do that we wouldnt have any more room for the few things that were still good. Finally, we were so disgusted and annoyed that we couldnt find things that we left only to have a bill of $161.00. Now, Ryan and I do eat well, but dear lord that is a big bill. You should have seen how empty our cart was! Needless to say we drove the extra miles to go back to our trusty Super Wal-Mart, and were pleased to see a smaller tab and many more items. So hip hip hooray for Super Wal-Mart.
